Dale Teague is a licensed massage therapist and graduate of The Institute for Massage Education at The Kalamazoo Center for the Healing Arts.  He possesses an intuitive, mindful, and thorough approach to his work and carefully listens to the body to help facilitate its own self-healing process. Dale uses an integrative approach to massage in order to customize and address specific goals for clients during each session.  He also respects the energetic component to bodywork and believes total health is achieved through wellness in mind, body, and spirit.  Modalities offered by Dale include: Deep Tissue, Swedish, Sports Massage, Acupressure, Myofascial Release, and he will also offer Cupping beginning in October 2017.

Deep Tissue Therapy: 

This is an area-specific approach that focuses on the deeper layers of the body.  The target tissues may include muscles, tendons, ligaments fascia, joints, or other connective tissues.  Deep tissue massage helps to release chronic patterns of tension, break up and eliminate scar tissue, and remove toxins and adhesions while relaxing and soothing the muscle.  It is both a corrective and therapeutic treatment.

 

Swedish Massage: 

This modality uses smooth, rhythmic flowing massage on the body to gently relax and refresh.

 

Sports Massage: 

Sports Massage is a helpful form of bodywork for runners and other athletes. It is used to help prevent injuries, maintain the body in optimal condition during training, and help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.

 

Acupressure: 

This ancient healing art brought to us by traditional Chinese medicine uses finger pressure to improve circulation along lines of energy in the body. Awakening the body’s vital life force (known as chi or Qi) contributes to an overall clearing of blocked energies and whole body health.

 

Myofascial Release Therapy: 

Myofascial Release is the three-dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system in order to eliminate fascial restriction.  It benefits and supports recovery from surgery, injury, emotional upset, or an over-used body and mind.

 

Cupping:  

Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction.  Cupping can help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and general well-being.
